The Story Behind Moving to KC

It started simple.

When I moved back to Kansas City from Denver, I didn’t have a media plan, a marketing team, or a big strategy deck. I had a background in roofing and construction, a phone in my hand, and a crazy idea to try a 30‑day social media challenge.

That quick experiment turned into daily posts for years—showing what it’s really like to live, work, and move in Kansas City.

📅 Dec 7, 2022: I posted to Instagram for the very first time.



📅 Jan 19, 2023: I hit “publish” on my very first YouTube video.

And that’s when things really started to click.

From Moving to KC… to something more

At first, it was all about relocation. Helping people figure out:
👉 Where should I live?
👉 How do I actually relocate?
👉 Is KC the right place for me and my family?

But as I kept posting, something bigger started happening.

I found myself sharing not just homes and neighborhoods—but everything Kansas City was building. New development projects. Local businesses taking off. Hidden gems most people didn’t even know about.

That’s how The KC Scene was born

What started as Moving to KC slowly became two voices.
One focused on homes, relocation, and guiding families through their move.
And one focused on the heartbeat of the city—The KC Scene—covering growth, events, and the people shaping KC’s future.

To keep both growing, we made it official:
✅ Moving to KC stayed focused on real estate.
✅ The KC Scene took on its own voice—documenting the city itself.
